Little Trip

We took a trip to Ft. Hauchucha last week. We intended to go to this sweet pool that's in the town of Sierra Vista (where the base is), but they did not have open swim hours during the week (it was a Monday/Tuesday). Oh well - next time. We instead hung out at the bike park next to the pool and then went to Kartchner Cavern. Kartchner is a living cavern with several large rooms that was discovered in the '70s, kept a secret and secretly transferred to state control (to protect the cavern from vandalizing), and then opened around 2002. It was really an amazing thing to see. They have one of the longest "soda straw" formations in the world - something like 29 feet.

The only draw back was having to listen to someone explain how the cave was formed millions of years ago. Even the kids rolled there eyes... I'm so proud! Hee hee.

Here's some pictures:

Oh, Christian fell into the prickly pears!

At the hotel -

There was definately something in the water! We had a real Alice in Wonderland problem.
